What is going on in barkyland? Today Biden defended Sen. Hillary Clinton at a campaign stop. Is Biden looking for a way out? With the barky campaign in panic mode due to their tanking poll numbers are they planing a VP switch? Or was this just pandering to her supporters so they wont leave the hateful misogynistic Democratic party for Sarah Palin and the Republicans.
ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe Reports: Barack Obama’s vice-presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., Wednesday said that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, might have been a better pick for the position than him.
At a rally in Nashua, New Hampshire, a man in the audience told Biden how glad he was that Obama picked him over Hillary “not because she’s a woman, but because look at the things she did in the past.”
“Make no mistake about this,” Biden responded. “Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America and quite frankly it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight.”
Now lets get this straight, we know Hillary was more qualified, Biden knows she’s more qualifed, why doesn’t the DNC.
Isn’t that bizarre? For the first time in their adult lives, the Obama campaign stumbles upon the truth. Well, duh.
Now people are speculating that Biden will need to retire for health reasons and Hillary will come in as VP. Wrong people, it ain’t going to happen. If it does, it would be a complete disaster. You can’t put spilled milk back in the jug. There are no do overs.

Either Joe was just being decently sincere or:
1) He is communicating a swap (or desired swap)
2) He knows the Dems are hosed and wants to be remembered as the guy in the party who actually thinks Hillary is more than “likeable enough..”
3) He knows they’re tanking, going to lose the GE and that Hillary will run again in 2012 and wants a place in the sun when she does.
4) Knows that the GOP has something shameful on bo and wants to remind us that he is one of “us” and not the “new coalition.”
Jeannie, all interesting possiblities, we’ll just have to wait an see. I hope to hell Hillary doesn’t get the VP slot, to prop up barkys sorry ass.
At this point, I’d rather see Hillary as VP so that she can kick BO’s ass politically. She would take the position to a new level.
At first I thought I’d rather see her go back to the senate and do the people’s work but I’m not sure that Pelosi and Reid will even let her. Seeing how they treated her during the primaries, she may not have the political capital or position to make big strides in the senate.
Elixir, I really don’t want her anywhere near that ticket unless she is on top of it and barky goes back to community organizing. It seems he feels that is a more important job than even being a Governor, so he should have at it.
If she is on the ticket with barky, she will get all the blame and none of the credit.
