Mr & Mrs DE are putting some mileage on our ride. Here’s a guest post by Out of Hand Mary to tide you over till I get pissed off at something besides the driver in front of us.
As deadenders has told us many times, “Both parties suck.” I certainly can’t argue with that. But, as Uppity Woman told us disenfranchised Dems after May 31, 2008, when many wanted to run Hillary on a third party ticket, there has never been a successful third-party bid for the White House. And that includes Theodore Roosevelt even after he’d already been president and ran on the Bullmoose Party..
Further, there is no national Independent Party. “Independent” designates something different in CA than it does in NY or FL. There is no Constitution Party. There is no We The People Party. And there is no national Woman’s Party. Maybe we can make these parties a reality in the future, but establishing a new political party takes tons more time and money than we have now. With obama and his Congress, our backs are up against it. We have to go with what we’ve got, which is the Republicans. You don’t have to love them or even like them, But if you want to save the USA, you’ve got to start supporting Republican candidates now. I’ve already made two modest contributions to the current Congressman seeking Barbara, “Call Me Senator, Not Ma’am” Boxer’s senate seat. And you’ve got to vote for them.
If we want to preserve America as a free and sovereign nation, if we want to rescue it from the One Worlders, and from the intellectual fungus spread in our schools by SDS members who infiltrated our University’s teacher training programs and created Obama-Zombies, and from the jihadist colonizers, we must clear the Oval Office and Congress of the debased Democrat detritus now posing as leadership. Our sole means to this end in 2010 and 2012 is to vote for the only ones who have even an outside chance of unseating them, the Republicans.
The editorialist, a former Democrat, to whom “cats” linked us at UW,, spells out our choices.
Republicans offer our only hope in slowing the Obama “change” juggernaut before the America of unbridled optimism and opportunity goes the way of the buffalo….
The only institution positioned to stop the progression of the Obama welfare state is the Republican Party, coupled with independent-minded Americans….the popular myth that the Democratic Party is the party of tolerance and big-tent ideas is spectacularly false.
http://www.lvrj.com/opinion/48721992.html
The window of opportunity to get rid of these Obama-Vermin is closing fast. We know obama’s plans to collapse America by crashing the economy, creating a one-party state, and putting paid to the Constitution, particularly the Bill of Rights. If we don’t let the RNC know right now that we’ll back their candidates, we’ll lose the chance to delouse Washington forever.
Out of Hand Mary

I love DE and Mary too. But I learned something last year…I will never again vote for a candidate or party I do not believe in.
I won’t vote GOP. I respect those who do – but to hand things back to THEM after W is not a protest vote. Voting DEM is untenable obviously.
Vote for the third party that is closest to your beliefs. If the libertarians went from 1% to 20% we’d have a whole new ball game. The elite would be shaking.
Trapping Americans between the looters on the left and the looters on the right is a game that must end now. The elites are counting on us believing we are trapped in the GOP vs. DEM game.
Vote your beliefs not your fears.
“Vote your beliefs not your fears.”
John,
There is much truth in what you say, and much wisdom. But when the fear is overwhelming reality, I cannot take the high road. However, my post and this discussion may be academic because I believe that long before 2012– and probably before the 2010 elections–obama will have declared martial law, declared the Constitution null and void (he’s doing so de facto every day), and turned his private army, aka civilian defense force, loose upon dissenters.
My post was based on a comment I left it UW today. Here’s my P.S. to that comment
And don’t worry about what the Republicans, once in power, might get up to. Were on the brink of destruction under obama and his Congress. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Its very sad that we are in this position in the first place. I hate the two party system. Mary, its nice to see you do a post again. DE, hope you & Angi are having fun.
On another note: remember “Perez Hilton”, the creep that endlessly persecuted Carrie (?) Prejean? He has a disgusting website where he draws disgusting things on pix of celebs & is a total misogynist. Anyway, karma was served. He was pwned last nite by the Black Eyed Peas (popular rock group). He made a video of himself crying and screaming F U to the peas. Its hilarious. The comments after the article are 99% against “perezcious”. He finally got what he deserved.
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b130471_black_eyed_peas_vs_black-eyed_perez.html#comments
There is a link in the article to perez’s rant.
Is that fleshy looking guy on the left Hilton? What a troglodyte. Why on earth would anybody have chosen something like that to be a judge for a beauty contest.
on’s
Too bad the other guy didn’t land one on Hilt big mouth. Geez.
Yes, the nasty guy is perez. He’s actually pouting in the pix and in the video he made. He really makes a fool of himself. I agree with you, I’m no beauty pageant fan, but I couldn’t figure out why on earth anyone would want this slug for a judge. The gay comm. is also fed up with him. Apparently, he was screaming at will.i.am, calling him a f*&got. A truly ridiculous scene! (But so funny!)
Holy cow. I wonder where his karma will go from here.
I’m glad he got punched. I would slug that fat fuck in a heartbeat if I could find him. (I won’t condescend to trolling public toilets, so I guess I’ll have to wait til he hits broad daylight)
I think ph is quickly finding out just how distasteful he is.
I would have enjoyed a full-on cat fight between both “men” even more. turned out it was one of Will’s boys that hit Purrrrrez.
Mary, your favorite song by Will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjXyqcx-mYY
remember the guy with the goofy hat singing at DNC Obamapalooza Greekday celebration? when interviewed by MSM he couldn’t name a single BHO campaign policy.
raGing,
How do you find all this great stuff?
And why are you surprised that a singing zoid couldn’t name any of 0’s policies. The only thing that he and most of the people who voted for 0 cared about was a little skin pigmentation. Irony of ironies: 0 isn’t even one of them. In fact, a few generations back, his mother’s family owned slaves. Nice, huh?
annie,
john,
Thanks for the kind greetings. About the two-party system, our good colleague P4 (Palin4Pres, aka 1539days, whose blog is @ http://daysofchange.wordpress.com/) remarked not too long ago at UW that most European countries have 3 or 4 viable parties. An omni-party system would certainly free us from being manoeuvered into a squeeze play by those whom John rightly calls elites, or as my aunt used to say, from being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.
Maybe someone reading here can explain why America is mired in the two-party system. But, the reality is, that’s where we are. Absolutely, the Dems have to go. obama is Evil incarnate, and his Congress is morally reopressive and fiscally criminal. And while the Repubs among them, except for Bachmann and maybe De Mint ,are nothing to write home about, there’s no saying that the Repubs will foist more W’s upon us.
Voting for a third party candidate could well send a message to the Repubs and Dems, but it probably won’t get that candidate elected. Nor would either party, concerned only with $ and power, much care about such a message. So it seems to me that while voting for a third party candidate might be the high-minded and ethical thing to do, it would probably not be the practical course. In effect, voting for a candidate who has no chance of winning will be throwing away our votes.
Please don’t get me wrong. I despise having to choose between what’s expedient and what’s moral. But short of a miracle, it is up to us to save America. And as the editorial writer from Las Vegas says, The only institution positioned to stop the progression of the Obama welfare state is the Republican Party, coupled with independent-minded Americans.
I believe in divided government. It may move slowly. There may be “gridlock.” But, I believe that was the intention of the founders. To prevent runaway programs from destroying us.
My plan is unchanged. Palin at the top of the ticket. Local Dems. And women in Congress.
Party on! (and work your butt off.)
SYD
I’ve always been registered as an Independent voter (NYC). Although I can’t vote in primaries, I can donate my time and money to a candidate if I am passionate enough about them.
That said, it is our responsibility as citizens to do what we can with what we have to work with.
Vote Third Party candidates? Not me. Although I think some of the more recent Third Party candidates could serve us well, the Two Party system has the US hamstrung between two sides of the same coin. Sometimes I think they’re all on the same side, but take turns being “good cop” or “bad cop”.
The only recourse is to use them the same way they use us. Forget the campaign promises, the oh-so-brave and fiery rhetoric they spew on the MSM’s
propaganda machinepolitical talk shows. In the end, all they want is re-election and more face time on TV. Classic pathological narcissism, if you ask me. So, use that Achilles heel to your advantage. Nothing they wouldn’t to do us.At this time, we Independents must mercilessly prod the GOP to clean up their act (even if it is just an act), because they (unfortunately) are the only voice of opposition with any clout, and we need them to provide oversight – or at least what can pass as oversight.
Promise your vote, if necessary. Let them know that you will make their dream of re-election come true if they fight hard enough for your cause (even if you’re lying through your teeth – once again, nothing they won’t do to us). Then, take their words and actions into consideration and either support them or not.
But when their party comes into power, it is time to begin prodding the other side for oversight. Something about politicians and limelight: they flock to it and will do the damndest things to stay in it. Don’t believe me? Look at the POTUS. Anything for a photo-op.
I believe it is the only way to keep them from doing as they have for the last few years. As an independent, you are gold, particularly in times as we are living now.
you mean “PUMA Democrat” is not the same as Republican? it’s my way of saying FU to both parties.
definitely will. not. vote. Democrat. again. not even down ticket. but I want RNC to SWEAT over each Independent vote. it keeps them real. the pigs can indulge us old farts. besides, if you put out after the 1st date you’re taken for granted. nobody owns my vote & I plan to get a WHOLE VOTE next time, not half.
GOP can beg. I will boycott the extremists & dangle a carrot in front of them periodicly until they ease up on the anti-choice/homophobe rant. you don’t fuck with old ppl. nobody owns my vote.
it’s fun pissing off the fauxbama-democrap too.
in the military you give up your individuality to accomplish a mission as team. that’s a sacrifice so many Americans refuse to make, even on a short term basis. our mission to take back America is important enough to make a sacrifice. I retain enough individuality to torture my enemy to that end.
PUMA-Democrat aka Independent-Republican-Feminazi
screw you Rush Limbaugh! Palin for Prez!
I wonder if the Log Cabin Republicans take straight ppl. that’s another option.
raGing,
Right you are. And if they mind their own business about people’s relationship and reproductive choices, they’ll represent PUMA’s a lot better and get a lot more support. But if they go back to Bush-style Fundie crap, we’ll all lose.
Allegedly, Palin is a Nixon plot:
http://www.imao.us/index.php/2009/06/nixons-revenge/
“So it’s been revealed in newly released tapes that President Nixon advised George H. W. Bush that the GOP needs more hot women.
So basically Sarah Palin is a Nixon plot.”
“I want RNC to SWEAT over each Independent vote. it keeps them real.”
Right on the money, raging. I could’ve just said this instead of my diatribe above.
And thanks, Out Of Hand Mary, for a great post!
I like the LCR principles. do you think growing that base would have any influence on the GOP? there’s power in numbers. membership is a little pricey. I wonder if they’re as stuffy as regular conservatives. http://www.lcrfl.org/
prolly too much to expect a pro-choice position since pregnancy isn’t an issue for most. http://online.logcabin.org/
Sadly, I do not.
The LCR has been characterized as a suicide mission among the gay community. From what I’ve heard from members who eventually left the organization, it was simply a ruse to make others think that the GOP tent was big enough to be inclusive.
Until this year (when the Latino voters became the #1 group to pander to by both parties), the LGBT community was being courted vigorously by the GOP. Its existence alone convinced some to join, but when they found out it served as only lip service (and not even the fun kind), they split.
Personally, I think the best position is to remain or register as an Independent. Both the GOP and the Dems will court you; and you can lie, promise, and manipulate them (as they do us) much more effectively than you could by actually signing on to their respective packs of lies.
Once you join, you’re abandoned because you’re perceived as a “sure thing”.
“Its existence alone convinced some to join,”
meaning the LCR, not the GOP in general.
Sorry about that. I need an editor……
tks Anthony.
I’ll go as far as rigorously supporting Palin against attacks just to let GOP know PUMA’s are a force.
GOP needs to ruminate over those low registration numbers for a while before I switch from Independent.
“I’ll go as far as rigorously supporting Palin against attacks just to let GOP know PUMA’s are a force.”
I’ll go a bit further: I’ll support her next campaign (as an Independent, of course).
I accessed her record, and she governs in a way that has nothing to do with her religious ideology. First veto was to kill a bill (Kill Bill? let’s tell Tarantino) that would prevent LGBT’s from getting equal rights despite her evangelical leanings.
Also responded to a reporter who asked what she would do if Bristol wanted an abortion by saying “I’d have to support her 100% even if – especially if – I didn’t agree with her decision. I’m her mother and thats my duty, like it or not.”
H-U-G-E pair of balls on this governor. I kinda like her.
She also appointed a pro-choice judge to AK’s Supreme Court. All this is exactly the info about her that needs to go viral. To ptotect its precious, the 0MSM will continue trying to extinguish her. PUMA’s need to know all this about her so everyone can get behind her.
Anthony,
NEVER stop your “diatribes or apologize for them.
You are very welcome. This post actually began life as a comment yesterday at UW, inspired by an editorial to which “cats” linked us. The author, Sherman Frederick, pretty well laid it out: the Dems are screing us over, so it’s time to vote Repub because it’s the only other viable game in town.
I thought maybe our DE family would like to share thoughts on the issue. I am very sympathetic to what many are saying about voting for the person, not the Party. BUT, obama’s evil is spreading. I can feel the shadows lengthening daily. It is the shadow of Adolf Hitler. The window of dissent is closing fast. In fact, I think the uprising in Iran has forced him to cancel his planned attack on dissenters here beginning with the July 4 tea party-goers. His foray against Fox news last week was a prelude.
I say again, our backs are up against it. Urgncy is all. If we still have elections in 2010, we have to start marginalized obama by getting rid of his leftist support base in Congress.
The whole government structure is based on the 2 party system. Committees, whips, etc. It would take a complete restructuring of the government and the powers that be have no interest or incentive to do that.
Then its up to we, the people.
I agree with raging that we must play their own game better than they do, and I think we can be better because:
We are interested only in our future as a nation. Not being re-elected.
Our ego’s are not our driving force – if they were, we’d be campaigning for public office
They will bend over backwards to get that “I” or minority vote. They’ve never been honest with us, so I feel no remorse in manipulating them. Fuck them all before they fuck us over yet again.
Just my own modest, humble and reticent (!) point of view
“If we don’t let the RNC know right now that we’ll back their candidates, we’ll lose the chance to delouse Washington forever.”
Yet, what’s the point if you’re just gonna send the other group of nits to office? As the old saying goes, nits make lice.
d.eris,
I understand very well that, as deadenders had said many times, both parties suck. And things may not change. But if we don’t try, for sure they won’t change.
The lefties running things now are the same lefties I knew in my long-ago youth, who used the Vietnam War protests as a cover for their Marxist agenda.
And obama is very much one of them. ACORN, for whom he was a star community organizer, evolved out of SDS (Wm Ayers’ organition), and is still headed by the old SDS leaders.
If we don’t fight against evil–and obama is Evil incarnate–then we enable evil.
I think all we can do at this point is take each candidate on an individual basis no matter what party they are from…the main thing being to thoroughly review their record and views. Had this been done with The One, many voters would have not been so impressed with 0. Unfortunately, the thug from ILLinois fought dirty with the elitists fully behind his every lie and the hype won while the USA lost!
So, now we play smarter.
Thank you Mary.
Wow – great comments. This issue has bugged me for a while now. With the possible exception of Mrs. Palin I can’t imagine what GOP I could vote for in 2012 in good conscience. Even as much as I like her (I have defended her fiercely on my blog.) I would have to hear more to feel comfortable.
Possibly the Gov. of Minnesota. More research to be done as we get closer for sure.
Even a year is a long time. 2010 will see an upswing for the GOP i predict.
Mary, I don’t know if your martial law prediction is correct but for the first time in my life I see it as a real possibility. I hear rumors that the FTC will put a clamp down on the internet in August. (Go to lifeaftertheoilcrash.org – breaking news for more.) The problem I have is the GOP is corrupt with a few guiding ideas that I tend to disagree with and the DEMS are just corrupt. It makes sense that the final collapse would come on their watch.
As I said Gov. Palin seems real and not bought off… but the real question remains – is Obama the final symptom or the disease itself? I do not know. My guess today is that he is a symptom – the Last Stooge forced on us by the elite before the curtain comes down.
We are in a lot of trouble. For me the path toward some sort of salvation has to come outside the 2 party system. What i do not know is if by 2012 any salvation will be possible.
I respect anyone who feels they must turn to the GOP now. Thanks for this post.
“is Obama the final symptom or the disease itself? …
We are in a lot of trouble.”
John,
You’ve probably never heard me say this before, but I’ve been saying it since the first nanosecond I laid eyes/ears on obama in 1/08. obama is the anti-Christ.
When Farrakhan, a Muslim, said, “Obama is the Messiah,” he wasn’t talking about the Second Coming. He meant the Islamic Messiah, called the Mahdi. A little reading and comparison shows that the Mahdi is the same as the Antichrist.
Yet, despite its awful predictions, the book of Revelation nowhere states that we cannot stop the Evil in its tracks. Truly, as I said to mcnorman recently, we are engaged in the epic battle between Good and Evil. And that is why obama has unleashed such a ferocious attack on Palin, for she is the anti-obama, which means she is the anti-Antichrist.
I can’t thank you enough for your participation in this discussion. And I’ll bet DE thanks you, too.
We certainly do need a third party in this country, but until there are real laws for campaign finance reform…something that doesn’t resemble the toothless laws we have now, I can’t see a viable third party happening.
I’m hoping that Obama won’t be able to run for office again, but if he does, he will win. Not because he’s done a good job for our country…hell, he could destroy the place. But he will win because he has the media in his pocket and someone in the shadows, IMO, is steering his career.
“he will win because he has the media in his pocket and someone in the shadows, IMO, is steering his career.”
Mary Ellen,
In a nutshell!
I voted Republican last election after many years of being a loyal Democrat. The world didn’t end. Or maybe I should say it hasn’t ended yet, because with Obama in, one never knows.
I will be voting for the Republican candidate in the next Presidential election, but it would please me greatly if the candidate could be Palin or Pawlenty, or even Jindal, rather than Gingrich or Barbour. I will also be voting for the Republican candidate for the House this next election, even if they run the idiotic jackass who was their last entry. If at least one House of Congress is not controlled by the Republicans, this country is screwed. And I’m voting against Democratic Senator Blanche Lincoln just because of her appearance with Claire McCaskill at the little Senatorettes for Obama press conference which was held before the murdered body of Hillary Clinton’s campaign was even cold.
In truth, I despise both parties equally, but if the Democrats proceed unchecked following Obama over the cliff, we’re all in more trouble than we can even imagine.
“we’re all in more trouble than we can even imagine.”
I can and do imagine it. That’ why I haven’t had a decent night’s sleep since January ‘08, when I first sAW obarfo.
Does anyone have a real number of how many left the democratic party this year? How many became independent and how many turned republican?
I more people become independent that means less money for both of the two parties. If membership goes down they will have to listen to outside people.
Both parties forgot what they were elected to do, represent the American people.
For the first time in almost 50 years I voted republican and left the democratic party and most likely will never go back. I feel very comfortable as an independent. I do not have to back a bad choice.
Backtrack scares me more than any officeholder in my lifetime.
I do believe he was selected to bring down America.
WOMEN WITH INTELLIGENCE AND EXPERIENCE,MEN WHO SUPPORT THEM AND COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS,BUBBAS,EQUALISTS AND THOSE PEOPLE RULE
The reason why we don’t like Obma is because he’s just too perfect & thus we’re jealous of his too perfetness
http://blogs.dailymail.com/donsurber/2009/06/25/barf-of-the-day/
No, adagio, I just plain old can’t stomach the bum.
FYI, people might want to contact your local Congressional Rep about cap & trade (which will basically become a regressive tax on the US economy) that’s supposed to be voted on tomorrow.
good timing on your post Mary!
new video out on the bloodsucking Axelrod-paid bloggers behind the Palin smears & ethics complaints. it has a part in 2012 re-election campaign of BHussein. campaign. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKXhR_0zs7s

regressives are fixing the election so no woman has a chance. they’re prolly behind the Sanford emails too.
Looks like the Obots took over the comment section on the youtube video to which you linked.
The lowest thing on earth to be is a paid obot, from Axelrod down.
The next lowest thing is a volunteer obot.
Evil is never short of helping hands.
raGing,
That video you found is very true. Doing evil does cause a person’s corruption from the inside out.
And you’re right. Except for that oaf me-me-mechelle, no woman will be president until past the year 2050.
did you notice Celtic Pig’s comment about Wonkette?
remember how Wonkette rigged blogger awards?
looks like the Diva’s buying lunch with those donations. que puerco!
raGing,
I remember that sub-human specimen Wonkette very well. But she didn’t rig the blog awards. I did some research at the time and concluded she was only doing what she was ordered to do. I have a pretty good idea by whom. I’m sorry to be mysterious, but UW asked me not to reveal what I found lest she be hit by the bots.
leave me an email at our secret club if it’s anything more than IP cloaking. already know about that. either way it was unethical & ACORN-like.
Wish I could, but promised UW.
Believe me, raGing, it’s been burning inside me for all these months.
