At first it seems shocking and not a good move.
But her explanation makes sense to me…she can’t work for the state if all she’s doing is defending these ludicrious ethics complaints and other slings at her.
I believe, no matter what, she is still priceless as a fund raiser, and I look for her to go out and campaign for congress critters next year. Look what she did for Chambliss.
I’m glad its the weekend and I’m leaving for vacation, because the next two weeks will be unbearable as they chew her up and spit her out…I only wish her the best.

First can we all agree that Sarah did not get to be a beloved and effective Governor because she is an airhead or a flibbertigibbet? Can we also assume that she’s fully cognizant of being the woman who does it all?
Second, can we further assume that she didn’t make her decision to resign the half-hour before she gave her speech? One month ago she was interviewed by Hannity and sounded very much like someone who was preparing to run against obama. She attacked his disastrous economic and enenrgy agendas, alluded to his weakness on national security, talked about state’s rights, and, perhaps most intriguingly, repeatedly praised our military. In rebutting recent criticism from Letterman and/or Kerry, she seemingly irrelevantly again praised the military.
So, can we assume that she had this plan to resign in mind when she made althose statements?
Doesn’t sound much like a quitter to me. She understands full well that obama, the DNC, and radicals–including those in the MSM–are scared spitless of her. For sure, she has someone reading the blogs and knows her base of grassroots support is growing, especially among women.

I have mixed feelings about this announcement. Personally, I can’t blame Sarah for resigning, after the constant attacks on her family–including the youngest, Trig. I’ve seen comments that were made about him by so-called Progressives, it was horrific! Can you imagine what her young daughters are going through as they hear their mom being called a slut on national TV by David Letterman?
I think the real blame for Sarah’s resignation are the women’s groups who lay silent while she was being crucified by the media and the sleazy bloggers on Huff Post and Daily Kos. They did nothing to defend her as a woman or her family and in many cases, they laughed right along with the sick jokes and photo-shopped pictures.
Hillary, too, was much too quiet when this was all happening.
I’m ashamed of the Democratic Party for their part in this. I hope she does run for office again, only as an Independent, but I have little hope that this will happen. I wish her and her family peace and absolute success. Alaska won’t know what they will be missing when she’s gone.

if it boots up connect video output to an external display to test the video component. usually there’s a keyboard sequence to toggle btwn internal & external display.
also you can boot to a windows install CD or any other boot CD to isolate a video driver problem. there’s an old WinXP “critical’ update that messes up the vga driver.
i’ve revived dead laptops by pulling the internal battery, shorting terminals, then re-seat. that’s the nickel-sized internal bat. the process clears internal instruction (CMOS).

I think she’s made a fabulous decision. She is refusing to be controlled and manipulated. The position she is in as governor is forcing her to play defense, to do nothing more than respond to phony ethics complaints and to try and defend herself from media assaults. Now that she’s resigned she can start playing offense. She can kick some ass. She owes nobody, she has no responsibility to the taxpayers, and she is free to be her own woman.
As I’ve been watching the news unfold in the Chicago Tribune and on the “non-news gossip shows…i.e. CNN MSNBC) the one thing I see is a lot of very frightened Democrat politicos who are doing all they can to smear Palin after this announcement. They were vicious before, but now they are becoming shrill and crazed. As an example, Huff Post’s remarks about Palin’s “Retardation Platform”. That’s really bad…makes the right wingers look like saints in comparison. Even Karl Rove wouldn’t utter such sleaze.
I have to think that it could go a few different ways. She is either dropping out of politics all together and championing her own issues, such as Autism research or funding for Autistic children. Or, she is preparing for a run for Prez as an Independent (which I wouldn’t blame her considering the crap she put up with the GOP). Or, the GOP wants to use her as a major fund raiser since she can draw a crowd and excite them like no other GOP candidate could.
I’m thinking that she’d dumping politics because of the bs her family has had to put up with. I believe she puts family before career and what her kids have gone through…it’s been horrible.
Either way, I wish her the best. I may not agree with all her politics, but I think she’s a lot smarter than many give her credit for and she’s got more class in her little finger than Obama or any of his minions combined.

She’s not kissing anyone’s ass, and she is sounding very much like a contender.
