I read over at Politico that Obama is already planning his 2010 State of the Union speech……………WTF? Is that all this man does is give speeches and spend time planning them? We’re not even done with 2009 and all he has to his name is the addition of TRILLIONS of dollars to our debt via the stimilus. None on his other key bills will be signed on his desk this year or possibly ever. Cap and Trade and his Health Tax Initiative are going to both die in the Senate.
Reading the article his major plans will be to reduce the deficit…Really…Seriously. That goes against every fiber of his being. It must be an election year.
I was taking to a friend yesterday who is an Obama supporter about the Health bill. He’s not as rah rah as he used to be. He mentioned that the bill would be partially paid for by eliminating all the corruption and fraud in Medicare. When I asked why don’t they just do that anyway, NOW and save taxpayers $500 million a years? It was as if a switch was turned on in his head. I think at that moment he realized just how much of this is BS.

He also thinks about all the cool trips he goes on constantly. He is a financial liability to us. It costs a fortune to fly that behemoth of an airplane, Air Force One, all over the place.
In my experience, Obama supporters are like the Borg. They have no original thought…just their talking points communicated to them from the mother ship.

I live in an are which is fairly light on Obots. I did talk to a couple of people at work who bad mouth Sarah Palin. I found out later, one of them voted for Nader. The other one is a funnier story.
He was in the cube next to mine going on and on as he does with just about every topic from technology to his laundry schedule. Normally, he’s an amusing person to talk with, but I had just had it. So, I started asking him what he didn’t like about McCain/Palin.
1. McCain is an old man who’s gonna die.
McCain’s mother is 96 years old. Obama’s parents died in their 50s. The press saw McCain’s medical records, but not Obama’s.
2. He’s tired of politics as usual.
Obama and Biden are both professional lawyers/politicians. Biden’s been in the Senate since he was 30. Obama never held down a 9 to 5 job. McCain was a Navy pilot. Palin worked a number of jobs. She started in politics by joining the school board. She is the citizen politician.
My logic on that and some other issues ended with him announcing that he wanted the country to be destroyed. That’s pretty much what he got. At least that day it was a win. I remember after that, a couple of Republicans started talking politics with me.

SoCalDem, if you came to my family Thanksgiving you would be surrounded by bots of the Borg variety. One family member swears he’s goinig to save the U.S. and then the world. Another one thought he was “so nice.” Nice, right. Like he was to Hillary and Sarah. Real nice. It is even more profoundly troubling to have to share Thanksgiving with people who bash Palin frequently and often, and who are rabid bots. I wish I could skip the “celebration,” but I have been guilt tripped this year like never before and told I’d better be there – or else. Or else what I don’t know, but since a family member is having their 90th birthday at the same time I can’t not go.
I will be giving thanks when I’m home after such a wonderful event with the Borg Bots.

We have one Obot in my family. Most of our family grew up too poor to ever advocate socialism or to view the government as benevolent. Any of these wealthy people like Jim Carey or Michael Moore who like to say how capitalism is the greatest evil on the face of the Earth are welcome to give up their wealth and live the cause of socialism by standing in line for food stamps, public housing, and school lunches. Those of us who grew up with the blessings of socialism spent every waking moment trying to escape and grab a piece of capitalism

American not only fought Japan in some pretty bloody battles, we used to swear never to bow before the emperor. It was an ideal people held onto while being held as POW’s, while being tortured, while dying on the battlefield. It became almost a mantra, “I will never bow before the emperor.”
So along comes Obama and gives a very unpatriotic bow, something Americans don’t believe in, but also a great offense to all those who fought against the Japanese. We may be allies, but in memory of the harm that elevating an emperor to a god- like status did, we do not bow to the emperor.
