Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano is under the impression that she is doing a bang up job and everything is a OK. Responding to questions about the Tidy Whitie Bomber on Cnn’s State of the Union she said and I quote. “The system worked”.
THE SYSTEM WORKED???? WTF system is she taking about?? This bastard got a bomb aboard a plane and tried to detonate it. The system got lucky…that’s all.
Maybe she’s not talking about OUR system at all.

Not just lucky…..what about that guy who jumped on the “nutjob” bomber and put out the flames with his hands!?!! He’s a hero and you hear nary a word about him!!
BINGO! The “system” that worked was moral decency and courage…..The DANE is a HERO…..
This system is something that Nappy and Barry et,al. don’t understand…..to understand it is to have even a single moral fiber which folks in DC do not have because it requires selflessness as demonstrated by the noble Dane…..
Last time I had to fly, they were swabbing my luggage for anything bomb related. They did not, however, swab my underwear….

Napolitano seems, at the very least, clueless. As are most of obama’s picks.
“Say What You Will…It Feels So Good”
We couldn’t expect Obama to take away from his tee-off time to actually congratulate an American citizen for being a hero and doing the job the TSA should have done from the start, could we?
But hey…his Obot’s all think he’s just being “strong”. To them, Obama is the hero for playing golf in the midst of a near disaster.
Something tells me that if one of those Obot’s were on that plane, they would have had some complaining to do. But like Obama…if it doesn’t affect them, then life is good. Idiots.
Nunly I think I read that the Hero was Dutch.
Can you believe those Obots, Nunly? Trying to claim Obama is just ignoring this incident so as to project calm onto the country. He’s just being strong for everyone else. Geesh, I’ve never read such nonsense in my life.
Another thing…
What was the immediate reaction to make sure this doesn’t happen again? New rules are that nothing can be on your lap for the last half hour of the trip. So, I guess the terrorists will just walk away now…no use trying. It would never occur to them to blow up the plane right after take-off instead of before landing, eh?
deadenders–never the less…he should be congratulated for what he did.
I agree Nunly. That guy literally saved the lives of hundreds of people.
I can’t believe her! The system worked?! On what planet? What worked was one guy not expecting the Gov to protect him or the other passengers, staying alert, and acting when he needed to act. Those passengers are safe not because the system worked but in spite of the so called “system.”
I just listened to Napolitanos interview with Candy Crowley on CNN (via NQ). It really boils down to this whole PC stuff. Crowley was asking her what it takes to get on the “no fly list” as in, why wasn’t this guy on it, and Napolitano’s response was you need more specific evidence to put someone on a list that would require them to undergo more screening to fly…..
We wouldn’t want to offend anyone now would we Janet??
You know some are criticizing Joe Liebermann (who I don’t usually agree with either) saying he’s calling for pre-emptive war on Yeman, (which he is actually NOT saying). But Joe had this to say about the “no fly list” issue and I couldn’t agree more:
Lieberman also keyed in on internal improvements on security watch lists, saying the government should cast its net wider in order to stop potential terrorists from boarding planes.
“We have to be able to, in our age, put 500,000 names on a computer and have everyone that’s trying to come to the U.S. go through that list,” he said. “That doesn’t mean they’re convicted of any wrongdoing, but it would be basis enough to take this guy out of the line in Amsterdam and do a full body check.”
I just heard that they removed another Nigerian man from a Delta flight landing in Detroit. He had barricaded himself in the bathroom, and they finally broke into the bathroom to get him out.
Yes, Freedom Fairy alerted us at Uppity’s blog too. It was the same flight # 253 and the guy boarded without luggage, like the last guy….he locked himself in the bathroom for over an hour before they busted him out.
This had nothing to do with the system working.
The jerk-off was on a ‘generic list’ compiled by the DHS, according to Napolitano.
The PRIVATE CITIZENS on the flight are the ones who sprang to action and prevented this disaster from happening.
The POTUS was in Hawaii, playing golf (even though he insists he’s the complete opposite of Dubbya)
Maybe the “private citizens” ought to get more involved in other areas that are left to the government to manage?
Little Anthony,
Oh boy! Do you have your own blog now?
“Just Who Is Napolitano Working For?”
The real question is, Just Who Is obama Working For?
The system worked has to be the dumbest answer she could muster up.
How did this asswipe get on the plane without a passport?
Flight 253 passenger: Sharp-dressed man aided terror suspect Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab onto plane without passport.
Here’s the link to mcnorman’s comment.

the backdorop changed a bit between her assanine statement & the qualifying retraction – Sunday with Transamerica bldg on a SanFran skyline. then Monday with black background & over-sized US flag next to official seal of Dept of Hindsight Security.
